I'm waiting for the next Horus Heresy book to come out next year before doing too much with my 30k Space Wolves, but from the reading I've done I'm assuming I'll likely need some tactical marines so here is my first squad.

Oldschool Orks: Mad boyz
Mad boyz are a classic unit from Space Marine and early 40k that have disappeared since the 4th edition codex - so like my Snakebite Boarboyz, I had to have some.
These guys are a motley unit, about 2 points cheaper than the average Boy (10 points vs 12 for all other clans) but at the cost of the Mad! special rule.

Burning of Prospero: Sisters of Silence
My wallet is hurting this month, with the release of Burning of Prospero.
I had recently picked up a plastic MkIV tactical squad, thinking that it would make for an interesting bunch of veterans/wolf guard to spread through my Space Wolves army (along side some old school metal marines here and there). And I ordered a 5 pack of resin space wolf torsos from forgeworld, because why not? I can stop any time I like...

Dreadtober: Venerable Brother Stumpy
One of my earliest purchases was the Assault on Black Reach boxed set - some marines, some termies and most of all - a dreadnought.
Brother Stumpy was named after a few early battles in which he would start in my backline and waddle slowly forward, struggling to get into melta range. Poor brother Stumpy.

Dreadtober: Bjorn the Fell Handed
I picked up Bjorn years ago on ebay but rarely fielded him in 5th ed due to the point cost (the only time I remember him in a battle was against my opponents Grey Knights going mano e roboto against the GK walker HQ).
I finally picked up a hellfrost cannon right arm recently and so have completed all 3 options for fielding Bjorn.

Oldschool Orks - Weirdboy
A short post today - after getting a pretty good copy of Dark Millenium on ebay with (most of) the psychic cards intact I decided I wanted a psyker in my Ork army to cast power vomit and 'ead banger.
I like the model, the jester outfit bells and staff - suitably bonkers.
I decided his hair and gloves would be flame coloured so he wasn't completely clownish, and did some OSL for his bug eye.
Thats it for him - next week (technically later this week) a brief break from 2nd ed orks for Dreadtober.

Cunning plan: Oldhammer 40k 2nd Ed
Over the last year and a half I've been slowly working on a 2nd edition scheme with my cunning opponent.
As much as I enjoyed painting and playing my Imperial Knight, and my flyer, as 7th Ed evolves and rumours of 8th Ed float around I find myself more and more drawn to the 40k of the mid 90's.

Wolves get some air support - Stormfang
The space wolf flyers were the new shiny to come out in the latest codex, and I wanted one.
Much like my Skitarri were my 2015 birthday present to myself, the Stormfang was my 2015 Christmas present to myself with some bonus money. (This breaks my self-imposed rule of no new 40k purchases until I've finished painting the last one but - meh! I wanted the shiny and it was Christmas).

House Hawkshroud group shot
While I was taking pics for my previous 2 posts I took some groups shots with Accipiter Ferox for no other reason than I wanted to:

Hawkshroud Skitarri Rangers
While my Hawkshroud Vanguard would run forward with Accipter Ferox, the squad of Rangers is intended to sit back in cover and shoot from range.
My fearless and cunning opponent and I are currently obsessed with the Prisma app for turning our pics into gothic cartoons - the plan is to do a bat rep completely in the style above at some stage when our schedules align.
