Hawkshroud Skitarri Rangers

While my Hawkshroud Vanguard would run forward with Accipter Ferox, the squad of Rangers is intended to sit back in cover and shoot from range.
My fearless and cunning opponent and I are currently obsessed with the Prisma app for turning our pics into gothic cartoons - the plan is to do a bat rep completely in the style above at some stage when our schedules align.

When I saw the initial release pics of the Skitarri, I loved the transuranic arquebus so I had to include one in my squad. I also went with an Omnispex to reduce a target's cover save by 1.
I went with a spot colour of purple, to differentiate the squad from the Vanguard
The Ranger Alpha uses one of the Vanguard alpha heads, as I like them, and I think it ties the 2 squads together. Not to mention that I've left the Alpha without any upgrades or special equipment so wanted to make the Alpha easily identifiable during play. Here you can see the Alpha has a different Hawkshroud symbol from the IK decal sheet - again same as the Vanguard Alpha.
The one thing irking me is the Alpha's missing backpack - the joys of having a 3.5yo in the house - it went missing somewhere while I wasn't in the room and is yet to turn up. I'm hunting for backpacks on bits sites, but weirdly there isn't alot of Skitarri bits out there (for a reasonable price, I'm not paying $20 shipping for a backpack!). So at some stage I'll locate one on the Intertubes and go back and get the squad from 99% to 100%.

And the group shot that I generated the Prizma picture up the top from.

All up the squad comes in at a round 100 points.

  1. They are looking great, though I'd love some larger images!

    1. Hi Greg, thanks for stopping by - your Ork Dread you just completed for the charity raffle is pretty awesome.

What size do you usually put the images on your blog? For some reason I have been keeping mine at 600x450 which I admit is pretty small, but would be interested to know what other folks use.

      Cheers!

  2. Thank you so much! I usually do 1500x but the blog downsizes it. Original resolution is something nutty like 4000x3000!
