Waagh enabled: Warboss finished

I had some motivational issues with the Ork nobs, so decided to focus on the Warboss and remembered why Orks are fun to paint.

I'm really happy with the skin, the highlighting on the pants/leather, the red armour and particularly the face. The checks on the bosspole and shoulder feel a bit messy, and I'm not wild with the banner - its less crisp than I'd like. Then again, I tell myself - its an Ork, they don't do crisp.

I'm forcing myself to finish these guys before letting myself start the Morkanaut - very motivating!

WIP Imperial Knight - Legs assembled

I spent an evening recently finally with the Imperial Knight, cleaning up and assembling the legs and lower torso. I have kept all the plating separate to make it easy to paint the parts of the skeleton underneath those areas.

Finally got my camera to charge, so here are some pics of the Sky Claws finished (although before a coat of Dullcote - its been raining most of the weekend).

Not sure how effective these guys will be, although in 7th ed they can contest Objectives (although not Secure them). With their mobility they might also suit some of the Maelstrom games where you get a VP if you hold an random objective at the end of the turn.

That being said, there is a certain something about a squad of space wolves sufficiently headstrong to strap jump packs on their backs while the rest of the army shakes their heads.

Stormclaw! a dilemma...

Rumours of a campaign boxed set for Sanctus Reach called Stormclaw are all over the place this week, and for me have resulted in a rollercoaster of conflicted emotions.

Because obviously I wants it my preciousssssss! But do I?

Orks! and some Sky Claw progress

A reasonable amount of 40k stuff has progressed the over last fortnight. Time for a post!

Our first game of 7th Edition was postponed due to cold-of-doom, so I worked on finishing the Sky Claws who are done (pending a spray of Dullcote to take the shine off the decals and some areas where washes have dried with a bit of gloss). I'll do a separate post with pics when my camera decides to charge.

The Ork codex has released, and I'm looking to bring my Kan Wall army up to snuff, as well as I couldn't help but lash out on a Morkanaut (its a big orky walker - how could I not?!).
